How to immigrate to Switzerland
We all know Switzerland is not part of the European Union EU but belong to the European Free Trade Association EFTA. EU countries and EFTA are joined together by the EEA European Economic Area due to this usually free movement between the members of these countries. EU and EFTA citizens do not require a visa to enter Switzerland, but they need to apply and register for a Swiss residence permit if they want to stay there for longer than 3 months.
So if your country does belong to the EU or EFTA you will have to apply for a Swiss long-stay Visa before you will be allowed into their country. Afterward, you can enter Switzerland and apply for a Swiss Residence Permit.
If you want to immigrate to Switzerland you must follow these steps
- Apply for either a Swiss work visa if you want to work in Switzerland but you have to be a contract staff with a Swiss employer, study visa if you have the intention to study in Switzerland and you need to have a certificate of enrollment before you can apply and family visa this visa is for foreigners that want to join their family member who is or are a permanent resident or citizen of Switzerland. Each visa has it own terms and conditions.
